The September Rent report just released by ABODO shows te average rate to lease a one bedroom apartment in St Paul to be increasing by 3.3% one of the highest rates nationally to $1364 . Two Bedrooms in St Paul are not far behind with a 3.13% increase to $1680 on average
Minneapolis average rental increase rate was not among the highest month over month but the cost is significantly higher to live in Minneapolis as a renter than in St Paul. On average a 1BR apartment rents for $1413 and a 2BR $1940 across the river.

While the report does not show rental rates in surrounding metro area, it does show the trend for increasing rent prices in the Twin Cities.
With interest rates at continued historic lows, it remains a good time to purchase a home.
